LAWS, RULES, AND REGULATIONS OF NEW SCOTLAND
Please note that this document will be ever changing until further notice. Thank you.
- New Scotland shall only ever have the form of government of Absolute Monarchy; all other forms of government are treasonous, anarchist, and rebellious. All practitioners of such forms of governments and their supporters who are citizens of New Scotland will be duly punished via the following methods -- 1) probation and house arrest with no unauthorised correspondence; 2) imprisonment with no unauthorised correspondence; 3) temporary exile with no correspondence whatsoever; and 4) put to death via beheading or hanging. Also, New Scotland’s existence shall only ever be within the parameters of the time period(s) of the sixteenth-eighteenth centuries and shall not be affected by any form of Modernisation having taken place within, during the time of, and after the Industrial Revolution.
- New Scotland shall always have freedom of religion (all religions, not just the freedom to practise one certain religion in different and diverse methods) insofar as the practicing of the religion(s) do not harm anyone or anything, commit any unlawful conduct or act, and NO RELIGION MAY CLAIM TO BE THE ONE “TRUE” RELIGION AND MAY NOT ATTEMPT TO CONVERT OTHERS OF DIFFERENT AND DIVERSE RELIGIONS TO ONE RELIGION AGAINST THEIR WILL. Committing any form of the aforementioned crimes and/or lawlessness shall be duly punished with the full extent of the law (all methods of punishment for any offence against the New Scotlandish Laws are as the above-listed four (4) methods, unless stated and specified otherwise).
- New Scotland shall have freedom of speech insofar as no one, including tourists, journalists, press, citizens, peers, religious persons, etc. speaks ill of the New Scotlandish form of government, culture, or Royal Family, etc. Those whom commit such an offence will be immediately exiled for two (2) to five (5) years from the country of New Scotland and all/any of its territories before they are able to sue for any form of pardon from the currently-reigning monarch, being the Blood Monarch or Monarch Matrimonial.
- All persons within New Scotland must acquire a Licensed Permit of Allowance from the currently-reigning monarch to own, possess, purchase, sell, or otherwise have/store any form of Modernised-World device; including but not limited to: all electrical devices, all Modernised clothing items, anything of the Modernised World that is not normally permitted within the boundaries of the country of New Scotland or all/any of its territories without written consent, in the form of a Licensed Permit of Allowance from the currently-reigning monarch. Please note that this excludes all forms of Modernised transportation, which are expressly and resolutely forbidden, e.g.: cars, trucks, sport utility vehicles, recreational vehicles, motorboats, any form of sailing vessel that is not periodically correct for the time-period in which those of New Scotland live within, motorcycles, bicycles, skateboards, rollerblades, roller-skates, and any other form of transportation except for horses and mules, (and in certain localities, elephants and camels) and the modes of transportation they are required for, including: carts, buggies, chariots, litters, carriages, etc.). PLEASE NOTE THAT A L.P.A MUST BE ACQUIRED FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL DEVICE OF THE MODERNISED WORLD AND EACH HOUSEHOLD MAY ONLY ACQUIRE UP TO THREE (3) TO FIVE (5) L.P.A.s at Her Majesty's discretion.
- All forms of Modernised farming equipment are absolutely and entirely forbidden, including: gas- or electric-powered ploughs/any form of gas- or electric-powered tractor (or any other form of the aforementioned only in existence within the Modernised World and not periodically correct for the time period(s) of New Scotland). The only forms of farming equipment permitted in any way are hand-held, manual farming equipments, such has, hoes, rakes, trowels, spades, etc. Also permitted are the ploughs that are pulled by oxen, mules, horses, or any other form of large, powerful animal once used, in the period(s) of New Scotland’s existence, to help farmers plough their fields. This also includes any form of pesticides, etc. which are duly forbidden, as well as additives, artificial colours/flavours, preservatives (excluding the salting of meats), etc.
- All tourists, foreigners, and all other peoples/persons whom are not New Scotland citizens must acquire a Tourist’s/Foreigner’s Identification Card and keep it on their person at all times whilst in public within the borders of the country of New Scotland and all/any of its territories, except for when they are within their boarding house, hotel, maison, hostel, bed and breakfast, etc. and must also describe their occupation/business within New Scotland and/or all/any of its territories. All citizens must carry on their person their Citizen’s Identification Card at all times, except for such times as they are within their own homes or within the current Royal House and must also describe their occupation/business within New Scotland and/or all/any of its territories. Such Identification Cards may be acquired at any governmental building, inn, tavern, or the current Royal House at ANY time. Those whom neglect to acquire their Tourist’s or Foreigner’s Identification Card will have three (3) hours to acquire one after their first warning before they are temporarily imprisoned in the closest local governmental building until such time as they acquire the appropriate Identification Card and they can prove that it is valid. Citizens whom neglect to acquire a Citizen’s Identification Card will be put on probation resulting in house arrest until such time as they can have a household- or family-member (including servants) acquire the appropriate Identification Card for them and they can prove that it is valid.
- There will be no toleration for processed/manufactured foods, pesticides, fillers, artificial flavours/colours, preservatives (except for salt and other natural spices and herbs), and all other foreign chemicals, substances, etc. in the food within the borders of the country of New Scotland or all/any of its territories. Anyone found to have committed such a heinous crime will be exiled from the country of New Scotland and all/any of its territories with no unauthorised correspondence for seven (7) years, before they will be permitted to sue for a pardon from the currently-reigning monarch.
- The Succession of the Heirs of the Monarch of New Scotland shall proceed as follows: the oldest surviving child of the currently-reigning monarch(s) will succeed first and the line shall follow in descending order of age, not by the gender of male before female. If all immediate heirs (being the children of the currently-reigning monarch(s)) are deemed unfit to rule because of mental, emotional, or physical status, the succession passes to the next-closest surviving relative of the Blood Monarch (being they male or female, having come to the throne through birth, not through marriage). If none are surviving or are deemed unfit to succeed due to mental, emotional, and/or physical status, the succession passes to the Monarch Matrimonial, if any. If there is not a Monarch Matrimonial or the Monarch Matrimonial is deemed unfit to rule because of mental, emotional, or physical status, then the throne passes to the next-highest Peer of the Realm being the Archduke of New Scotland and then shall pass down the line, as with the monarchs’ family, from eldest to youngest through the years. PLEASE NOTE ALL PRETENDERS TO THE THRONE AND CROWN WILL BE DULY PUNISHED: BEING CONVICTED OF COMMITTING THE CRIME OF CROWN- /THRONE-PRETENDING (THAT IS, PRETENDING TO BE THE NEXT IN LINE TO THE CROWN/THRONE OF NEW SCOTLAND AND ATTEMPTING TO TAKE IT BY FORCE, ILLEGALLY AND HEINOUSLY AND TREASONOUSLY) THEY SHALL BE PUT TO DEATH BY HANGING THEN DRAWING AND QUARTERING IN THAT RESPECTIVE ORDER. IF THE PRETENDER DOES NOT ATTEMPT TO TAKE WHAT IS NOT THEIRS BY FORCE, AND ONLY BY SOLEMN/PEACEFUL MEANS SUCH AS CONSPIRING OR RALLYING FOR SUPPORT THEY WILL BE EXILED FROM THE COUNTRY OF NEW SCOTLAND AND ALL/ANY OF ITS TERRITORIES FOR THE REMAINDER OF THEIR EARTHLY LIFE WITH NO CORRESPONDENCE WHATSOEVER FROM WITHIN THE AFOREMENTIONED BOUNDARIES THAT THEY HAVE BEEN HITHERTO BANISHED FROM.
- The education (or de-education where needed) of all peoples of all ages will be regulated by the currently-reigning Blood Monarch (‘Blood Monarch’ being the sovereign who came to the throne through their birth or family relations, not through marriage, proxy, stewardism, etc.). ‘Education’ includes the learning and retaining of knowledge of one’s duties, place, class, caste, occupation, grammar, language (including English, German, French, Russian, Romanian, Dutch, Danish, and Italian), arithmetic (consisting of ADDITION, SUBTRACTION, MULTIPLICATION, AND DIVISION OF WHOLE NUMBERS ONLY), history, geography, astronomy, housekeeping, sewing, cloth-making, jewel-making, and all other occupations and trades found within the parameters of the Period in which New Scotland sets itself, as well as the workings of politics and studies about Modernised Times. Please note that not all subjects of education apply to all persons; the qualifications are by gender, profession, and class, however, certain educational services may be bought for a respective fee. ‘De-education’ includes the ‘unlearning’ and the forgetting of knowledge of one’s previous life within the Modernised world and the ‘relearning’ of the above-named subjects that are acceptable within New Scotland.
- The hierarchy of the class or caste system in ascending order shall be as follows: LOWER CLASS, impoverished; MIDDLE CLASS, not impoverished and yet not wealthy; UPPER CLASS, wealthy and yet not a peer of the realm; PEER, wealthy and born of or created by the Crown nobility; CLERGY, consisting of any cleric or clergy-person of any religion recognised by the Government of New Scotland; ROYALTY, members of the Royal Family, consisting of the Blood Monarch, Monarch Matrimonial (if any), and any children of either Monarch.
- Any children born to previous marriages of the Blood-Monarch and/or Monarch Matrimonial and any children born out of wedlock to the Blood Monarch and/or the Monarch Matrimonial are not exempt from receiving the Throne and Crown in their turn. Once the Blood Monarch has married the Monarch Matrimonial and the latter has had his/her coronation, the Monarch Matrimonial is just as much a sovereign as the Blood Monarch, and therefore his/her children are automatically legitimised and legally able to inherit the Throne and Crown in their turn. All those opposed to this law are deeming themselves opposed to the Crown, Blood Monarch, Monarch Matrimonial, New Scotland, and its form of government, etc. and are thereby convicted of High Treason and shall be duly punished to the fullest extent allowed by law.
- The Blood Monarch is the only Sovereign permitted to change, adapt, add or negate laws within the realm and all/any of its territories.
- If it should so occur that the previously-reigning Blood Monarch should have no surviving children or relatives, including a consort (Monarch Matrimonial) to assume the Throne after their decease, and the next highest officiating Peer should assume the throne, he/she is NOT considered a Blood Monarch; his/her children/relatives whom assume the throne after them ARE considered to be the Blood Monarch because they have come to the throne through a family relation of some form.
- Any suitor to the Crown, aiming and wishing to become the Blood Monarch’s consort and therefore the Monarch Matrimonial, MUST BECOME A NEW SCOTLAND CITIZEN and remain a citizen for at least six (6) months (one half-year) in order to obtain legally the title of Monarch Matrimonial at their coronation after their wedding to the Blood Monarch.
- Out of the respect for diverse religions, the following shall be made law: those of any of the branches of the Christian religion, including those practitioners of Catholicism, do not have to attend to their occupation (‘work’) on Sundays or any of their recognised Holydays. This is true for all others practising diverse religions: no persons of a certain religion must needs attend to their occupation on Holydays or their religion’s day of rest (if any). In light of this: all citizens must report their current religious status to the government for documentation, notify the government if they have converted to a diverse religion than that of their previous practise so that those frauds and charlatans that would absent themselves from their duties and/or occupations may be apprehended and brought to whatever justice is due them. If there should happen such a time that a person of some religion, and holding a governmental position or occupation, should be summoned to their duties by the currently-reigning Monarch(s) , they then have the obligation to attend to their duties and occupation, no matter if it is their religion’s day of rest or a Holyday.
- No ward of either the Blood Monarch or the Monarch Matrimonial (or both) may marry without the consent of their guardian(s); all/any of whom to do so shall be duly punished accordingly through banishment from the Royal Court for one (1)-three (3) years with no unauthorised correspondence and without any form of correspondence to their guardian(s). If, after their time of banishment has ended, their guardian(s) see fit to forgive and excuse their transgression, they shall be admitted back into the Royal Court (this is on the whim of the respective Monarch(s) whom was/were their guardian(s) prior to their indiscretion).
- Upon accepting a person’s Application for Citizenship and ratifying it to where said person has officially become a New Scotland citizen, that person shall pay a two (2) percent (%) gratituity tax directly to the government for their acceptance into the country of New Scotland, except during such times as the currently-reigning Monarch(s) deems fit to have free admittance and acceptance of citizenship applications and citizenship itself.
- Those members of the Peers and Nobility whom wish to marry, divorce, or re-marry at any time must receive explicit permission from the currently-reigning Monarch(s). Those of the same whom wish to take a wardship or adopt must also receive explicit permission from the currently-reigning Monarch(s). Those members of the classes not included in the above do not have to receive permission to marry or re-marry, but they do have to receive explicit permission to divorce, take a wardship, or adopt.
- All inventors must apply for, obtain, and receive a Licensed Permit of Allowance deeming that the things they are inventing are permitted within the parameters of New Scotland. Merchants and vendors selling the inventions must also apply for, obtain, and receive a L.P.A. in order to ensure and prove that they are not selling an illegal item in their stores, stalls, etc.
